My father has a saying that he recently shared with me. He says "Life is a mystery to be embraced" 

This post reminded me of exactly that. That quote by Joseph Campbell is just beautiful. It really touched my heart. I guess this is because it resonates with me word for word. I used to be a teacher in Los Angeles. I thought it was my dream, but it wasn't. The irony, is that (as the quote states) I knew exactly where I wanted to go with it. I wanted to run my own school, become a principal and change the education system. Yes, it was a good dream, but it wasn't my dream. It was someone else dream. 

Now, that I am moving forward with my dream, it has moments of intense ambiguity. I have learned and am learning to embrace this ambiguity.

@30YearOldninja In my 20's the path was so clear, and I could never have predicted the twists and turns that were fast approaching. Like you, I knew exactly where I was going. Worst thing that possible as it gave me a false sense of security and I stopped creating. I became a consumer of my own life, and that was not fun or fulfilling at all. It took time for me to allow a new dream to emerge. I didn't trust myself, or it! Until I did and everything changed in a heartbeat! That was 12 years ago, and maybe it's a cycle because a new dream is wanting to emerge. The discomfort is there, but now there's definitely more willingness to embrace the unknown.

Sandi, I love your reminders to embrace the mystery of life...we don't know where the next steps will lead exactly but we can keep pointing ourselves in the right direction and just keep taking those steps.

Very cool photo -- love the writing on the steps!  And I love the steps -- so simple but not so easy.  Sandi, FYI, I tried to "Like" the conversation between you and Otiti, but livefyre didn't seem to want to let me.  Maybe/hopefully it's just me.

@Sandi Amorim YES! I think we look outside so much because ideas seem to have more authority when they come from other people. It's like they already been tested by folks who "get it" and we can trust what they say. Funny thing is, if we all wait for someone else to speak out and hush our own voices, who's ever going to light up the world with their brilliance?
